A modern garden style, beachfront wedding 7 years in the making.

Ellis Beach provided the perfect backdrop for a modern garden style, beachfront wedding—truly the best of both worlds for the bride and groom. Nestled between lush greenery and the sparkling shoreline, the venue allowed for a seamless transition from ceremony to reception, capturing the magic of nature while keeping a touch of elegance.

The enchanting tree at the heart of the garden became the focal point for the ceremony, in front delicate florals creating a picture-perfect frame as the couple exchanged vows. From there, guests moved effortlessly into the garden reception, where white furniture added a fresh, clean, and contemporary vibe. The neutral palette complemented the natural surroundings beautifully, giving the event a modern yet timeless feel.

Every wedding has its curveballs, and for this couple, it was the weather. They had dreamed of a soft breeze, clear skies, and a starry night, but Mother Nature had other plans. Despite the overcast skies and gentle winds, the day remained magical. Guests mingled comfortably under the canopy of trees, laughter and joy flowing freely as the couple celebrated their long-awaited union.

A personal touch was added through the bridesmaids’ dresses, thoughtfully chosen to reflect the couple and their boys favourite colours. Each dress harmonised beautifully with the garden and beachfront setting, creating a warm, familial connection while maintaining an elegant, cohesive look. The colour palette was echoed throughout the floral arrangements and signage, with soft pastels and vibrant blooms interwoven to enhance the natural beauty of the surroundings.

The styling highlight for this cocktail-style wedding was the cake display. A fabric backdrop with cascading florals, cleverly relocated from the ceremony, created a seamless design flow and added sustainability to the styling choices. At its centre, a glowing neon sign framed the cake table with the words “love you more”—a romantic nod to the couple’s story. The cake itself, adorned with delicate floral accents, sat proudly on sculptural plinths, surrounded by garden-inspired arrangements. This thoughtful design element became a visual focal point of the evening, drawing guests in and making the cake cutting feel extra special.

Breaking away from tradition, the couple chose woodfired pizza as their catering. This fun and relaxed choice perfectly complemented the cocktail-style setting, allowing guests to enjoy delicious, freshly made slices throughout the evening. The aroma of wood smoke drifted through the garden, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that encouraged mingling and laughter—exactly the laid-back vibe the couple had envisioned for their day.

Even with unexpected weather, the combination of the beachfront location, lush garden setting, thoughtful design details, ensured the day felt effortless and unforgettable. It was a wedding seven years in the making, and every moment radiated the love and dedication that brought this couple to their dream day.
